Last night we had my sister’s surprise Jersey Shore-themed 30th birthday party (“Thirty Shore,” of course.)

I poofed up my hair, double bra-ed to push the puppies up as high as possible, and applied more bronzer than an entire Miss Hawaiian Tropic pageant. Topping off the look with shutter shades and 2-finger ring that read FAMOUS, I looked (and felt) like an absolute douche.

The party was a complete success. She was totally surprised, which is no small feat considering my sister is super nosy and finds out EVERYTHING.

To finish off the night, about six of us went to the same bar where we used to underage-drink for darts & more beer.

Just a few things that came to mind when reading this great list:

1) Glad SF was number 1 (that was always my favorite)
2) I realized that I stopped watching after (possibly during) the Sydney season
3) Kelly (from New Orleans) married Scott Wolf?
4) My SAT course prep teacher was a cast member in one of the early seasons (90s)
5) The line where, in describing Vegas it says: Well, here it is. The season where everything died

Wow. I met Matt Smith (pictured bottom-right) at this church-y event I went to when I was about 15. He gave a “talk” and lead us all in these Christian songs, complete with hand movements that I was already familiar with from my many years of Catholic schooling.

At the time, I thought it was the coolest thing that I met “such a well-known celebrity.” I believe this is where my celebrity-fascination stems from.

Or maybe it stems from becoming enthralled with boybands at such a young age.
