free to be bree.

I'm Bree. I'm a 26 year old Jersey girl, and I'm here to dazzle you with my cupcakes! Well, maybe not "dazzle" exactly, but I do tend to brag about my cupcake endeavors quite a bit. I'll also throw in some random "things going on in my life" posts from time to time. Enjoy!

Talk about unfortunate timing. (Or fortunate, depending who you’re asking.)

Tonight was Disney on Ice: Mickey & Minnie’s Magical Journey with my mom, sister, and goddaughter. The show was really good!

Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, & Goofy were kind of the emcees of the night. First up was the Lion King. It started with young Simba & Nala, and transitioned to grown-up Simba & Nala in the middle of “I Just Can’t Wait to be King” (as it should.)  There was no Scar or hyenas, which I was thankful for because it would have scared the bajeeziz out of my niece (she was already a bit off-put by Rafiki and was telling us 5 minutes in that she wanted to go home. She warmed up by the end of the first song.)

Next came The Little Mermaid. As you can see above, she got her legs! Ursula & her Poopsies did make an appearance, and, although Alexis was a bit trepidatious at first, she then realized that Ursula is just a big “occa-pus,” and stopped being scared.

Lilo & Stitch was after The Little Mermaid. I had forgotten how much that movie makes me cry. They did a really good job of putting everything Hawaiian on ice. My favorite was that all of their ice skates were made to look like each character’s actual footwear. Therefore, Lilo & David Kawena had flip flops painted onto the boots of their skates!

After a 15-20 minute intermission, in which the zamboni thoroughly entertained my niece, the Mickey Mouse gang came back out with a Bobby and other “Brits” for a rendition of “It’s A Jolly `oliday” with Mickey, I think they sang. It was immediately followed by the story of Peter Pan. My favorite thing about this part was that Tinkerbell’s want actually sprinkled pixie dust! I’m a sucker for glitter, so I was naturally awe-struck by this.

Thank God I have a little kids in my life that I can treat to Disney on Ice performances. It gives me 100% legit reason to go and not look like the creepy lady who’s there with no kids.

Only caveat: they were not serving beer. My sister & I like to drink in the oddest places. We had beers at the Hannah Montana concert a few years ago, and were hoping to do the same at Disney on Ice. Oh well.

Disney is hosting a HUGE princess sleepover for the viewing of William & Kate’s nuptials. I wish I could go! Where’s a fairy godmother when you need one?

omg, I totally forgot its monday.

Greetings from Animal Kingdom!

Disney night 2: Shin splints. Ice. Need food and sleep.

Animal Kingdom tomorrow.

My glowing cocktail at 50’s Prime Time Cafe in Hollywood Studios! Fancy!

Dug out this old luggage tag this morning.

It’s really such a shame that they didn’t have the Bibbity Boppity Boutique when I was little… and that I’m too old for it now :-\

She’s here! She’s here! My Cinderella shirt has finally arrived!

I am now 100% packed clothes-wise. Only 3 more days!

Packing for Disney, watching the Princess Diaries, and checking off my packing-checklist with my Cinderella pen.

Maybe I should throw on a tiara for good measure?
