I'm Bree. I'm a 26 year old Jersey girl, and I'm here to dazzle you with my cupcakes! Well, maybe not "dazzle" exactly, but I do tend to brag about my cupcake endeavors quite a bit. I'll also throw in some random "things going on in my life" posts from time to time. Enjoy!

it wouldn’t be summer if i wasn’t throwing random colors into my hair.

yes, these exist & yes, i will be purchasing one.
the ultimate...
Ya know, there are times when I get really aggravated with my Nook because it seems to not be worth its trouble for a number of reasons, one being the LendMe process (did you know you can loan a book once— that’s it! One time to one person ever!? They do not make it seem that way in their marketing…) such as last week when I tried to lend The Hunger Games to my mom for a full 3 days straight with no such luck, that she would up just buying her own copy of the trilogy. (which is now working out for me as we resolved the LendMe issues and I am now borrowing her trilogy to read Catching Fire and Mockingjay.)
Then there are times like now, when I was scrolling through the “Nook Books Under $5” list for anything even slightly worth my while, and I came across My Booky Wook for 99 cents! I don’t think I’ve ever clicked “Purchase” so quickly in my life.
This will probably sit in my virtual book shelf for a little while as I have to read the 2 Hunger Games books ASAP (I only have 2 weeks, and then kaput. I highly doubt I’ll need anywhere near 2 weeks, but still.) and then I have some holds on virtual library books that should be available to me fairly soon before I can move onto my little Russel Brand.
I started this year with the intention to read more (being a lit major in college kind of threw me off the reading-for-pleasure path for a while), and I’m happy to say that 7 weeks in, I’ve already read 3 books, am basically in the process of 2 now (I’m getting Catching Fire & Mockingjay done in one shot. I can’t prolong this any further— I’m DYING!), and have at least 2 waiting for me after that.
OH! And I just remembered that I downloaded Wuthering Heights a couple of weeks ago! Can’t wait to re-read that— it’s been AGES!
I finally did it! I finally bit the bullet and purchased The Hunger Games for my Nook.
I downloaded the sample, zipped through the first 38-pages faster than I’ve ever zipped through a book before, and already needed more. Needless to say, I immediately logged onto my BN.com account and bought that bad boy.
Guys, this book is crack. (But you knew that already.)
Next up: The Fault in Our Stars, followed by A Walk Across the Sun, potentially with a little Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society thrown in.
I’d really like to read the Hunger Games as Danielle and Lili (the two ladies I consider my source for anything worth checking out) are pretty much obsessed with it, and I need to see what all this is about. I honestly have no idea what the trilogy is even about, and I’ve avoided watching the trailer for the movie because I’d really like to read the book and not get any preconceived notions from the trailer.
The other issue is that I’m really strapped for cash, and can only figure out how to download the audiobook copy from the library for my Nook.
To download the audiobook or to just cough up the cash… that is the question.
